| First day in Metropolis, and already I'm fighting crime... Well, Metropolis certainly is an oxymoron, as this town is more like Smallville. But as we all know from the show, THAT is where all the action happens... Check this out... So Aaron and I decided to go to WALMART for some milk for our cereal/oreos, he went in, I stayed in the car. Suddenly this kid starts screaming at someone on his cell phone and I overheard him say something about "my friend SAW YOU holding hands with him, get out here now!!" So a few moments later, a group of teenagers come walking out of Walmart... probably about 4 guys and 2 girls. The guy who made the call had 2 male friends with him also. When the two groups combined, the antagonist got into the face of the guy who was apparently with 'his girl'. He started using the typical teenage attitude of, "you betrayed me" blah blah blah… The girl assures him it's not true but he refuses to listen. This went on for a few minutes, and I was sitting in the car contemplating whether or not I should get out and break it up. Aaron was in Walmart and called my cell phone to ask me something. As we were talking, an off duty police officer approached the teenagers. He flashed his badge, and told them to break it up and get off of Walmart property. So they all got into three different cars, and the antagonist once again said to the guy, "We're gonna finish this" and pointed at him, very scary… haha. After that, the cars drove over to a nearby gas station, still within my eye-shot. The villain then got out of his vehicle again, and started harassing the people again. Of course, I couldn't hear what they were saying, but I knew it was probably the same thing he was saying at Walmart. The villain was very intense, and it troubled me, so I decided that before this kid did anything stupid, I was going to call the police. But since I didn't know who these kids were, or how long they would be at the gas station, I decided to use some of my detective skills to get the kids license plate number. I took out my Kodak Easy Share camera… zoomed in as far as I could, 10x optical zoom and 3 x digital zoom. I steadied the camera, took the picture. Then zoomed in on the photo, to reveal a perfect shot of his license plate number. I then dialed 911 and told the officer on the other end what I had witnessed. A few minutes later, one of the kids who was involved walked back over to Walmart. At this time, Aaron was also walking out of Walmart. I got out of the car, and started to approach the kid, as Aaron looked on like, "what the heck is he doing?". Haha. So I asked the kid if he was involved, and he said, "yes, I was there" and so I told him that the police were going to look into the altercation. I then asked him if he was friends with the kid who was out of control, and he said, "yeah, it's about a girl…as usual." He proceeded to tell me and Aaron that he had recently been dumped by the girl he was upset with. So I warned him to tell his friend to take it easy, and that a girl isn't worth going to jail over. He then called his friend and told him the police were looking into the situation. We parted ways with him and he thanked us for the tip. Aaron and I then were going to leave the parking lot and head back to the hotel when we saw the cops over at the gas station. So we pulled over there and I asked the cops if they were there for the call about the teenagers and he said yes. So I told him which way they went and that I saw it, and he thanked me for being an upstanding citizen. Haha. So that is my story of fighting crime in Metropolis… HAHA. I really AM Superman. Peace. ~S~ |
